Back to the USA!

Mood-O-Meter : Shaking off jet lag, but feeling great to be back!
On The Jukebox : MTV in the hotel room
Blog Snack : Krispy Kreme and Latte for breakfast!

I have survived a 36 hour door to door journey to USA! Yeah, it took me that long from my flat in Singapore, to Changi Airport, Singapore, to Frankfurt, Germany, to JFK International, New York, to Cincinnati, to my hotel Great Wolf lodge. Whew! I did not sleep for the most of my trip, so that I could shake off the jet lag by sleeping according to the US Time Zone. I should be okay after tomorrow.

Picture time! I cheated a bit, downloaded the pictures from the Internet instead of taking them myself. I'm tired people! Give me a break! I'll post some self taken pictures after this la. :)

Great Wolf Lodge, my hotel. Looks more like an amusement park for families. Directors sure know how to plan their events!

Another highlight of my trip is the FOOD! It's always nice to come back and have the kinda food that I enjoyed during my WMU days. Yeah, the same kinda food that turned me into a blimp!

Dinner, was Pizza Hut! I guess the US is the only place where you can get food looking EXACTLY like the pictures in the menu.

This morning's breakfast was Krispy Kreme! Man I miss the donuts here. Heavenly, especially when you have it with coffee!

Dark Knight Rocks!!!

Mood-O-Meter : Not looking forward to Monday at all!
On The Jukebox : Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Blog Snack : Toblerone Dark Chocolate

Sick and tired of people telling me how brilliant The Dark Knight was, I embarked on a quest to watch it this weekend. No matter what! And boy was I not disappointed. The movie ROCKED BIG TIME! I'd say it was Heath Ledger's masterpiece before his unfortunate death. I'd rate this his best performance ahead of you-know-which-movie. Definitely Oscar worthy for lead actor. Aaron Eckhart also gave an engaging performance as Harvey Dent aka Two Face. Christian Bale took a step back in this movie though, letting the two villains take center stage. Interesting directing by Nolan. The Dark Knight kept it's dark flavor, very similar to Batman Begins. Over all, it is an awesome movie.

Sporting updates, Tiger won the US Open with an aggravated knee injury bugging him through out the 5 days. How the hell does he do it! Is he human? Amazing performance. Too bad he'd be out for the rest of the season. I guess this is the best time for the rest to step up. What's with my boy Fed? He's getting whooped by the Spanish Swashbuckler Rafa Nadal in two consecutive Grand Slams. The French Open and Wimbledon *GASP* Guess it's back to the drawing board for Fed. We'll see how he fairs in Beijing Olympics.

Malaysian Scene, lotsa merry go round conspiracy disclosures happening between the government and opposition. Heck, we are being the global laughing stock. It is high time we clean up our acts and get right things done. Easier said than done right? Guess that's politics. Anwar's charge of emulating Heath Ledger in that-highlands-movie, is certainly giving us Malaysians a kinky reputation. Hahaha. I'd better watch who I tell in bars that I am Malaysian! They might just think I am up for it!

Things to look forward to, I'm moving outta Clementi in August 08. Gonna share a flat with C in Commonwealth. Nearer to town, more accessible to places where I play tennis, golf, or hang out. Definitely a good move! I'm flying on a jetplane again! This time to Cincinatti OH for business meetings. Gonna stock up my flat with duty free booze on my way back. Hahaha.

Awesome Trip Home

Mood-O-Meter : Happy, but exhausted
On The Jukebox : None
Blog Snack :
Bread Talk's Chocolate Croissant and Bak Kwa Special

What a weekend it has been! I traveled back to Ipoh. The main purpose was to play golf and eat food! Hahahha. Figured since it is the labor day holidays, decided to celebrate an early Mother's Day. :) Kelvin's back as well. I guess it will be the last I will see him for a while. Coz he is headed to Wharton baybee! Hahaha. Good for him le, he's busted butt for it.

Anyways, it was a fulfilling trip back to Ipoh (first time since I arrived in Singapore).

I'd recommend Iron Man to everyone, comic book fan or not! This is a kickass movie, and what made the difference between a kickass one and a flop, was ROBERT DOWNEY JR.

Different Saturday, Dumbass Sunday

Mood-O-Meter : Looking forward to go back to Ipoh this week!
On The Jukebox : Click Five - Happy Birthday
Blog Snack :
Nada

I had a total change of routine this Saturday. I went to art class. Yes, I did! Anne pulled me to sign in for this abstract art class, by a French artist Delphine Bernard. She gave a short presentation of how things can be done. "Just open up your mind and paint freely". Easy for you to say, Delph. Bah! There are many things in my life that is always changing, but one thing is constant. My lack of talent in arts. Hahaha. But I did some pretty cool pieces, that you'd never guess was done by an amateur like me. I'll post some pics of them when I get them back.

Delphine's art piece. Not mine lah!

Delphine's previous art class. I am not in the picture.

My Sunday was a DUMBASS, in every sense of the word. First, I went to Queenstown Driving Range. Got lost, was walking 20 minutes looking for the place under the scorching sun. But anyways, the Driving Range is really cool. Way cooler than Jurong East. Then I went to watch Harold And Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay with Anne. I lost the fucking tickets! How dumbass can I be? Geezus. And that happened right after I locked myself out of my own room with my keys in the room. Luckily my landlord had spares. Anyway, the movie was dumb. In a good way, the movie was HILARIOUS! If you enjoyed the first one, wait till you watch the sequel. Surprisingly, Singapore did not censor the F-words, the nude scenes, the US bashing remarks, etc. All the ingredients of a good movie.

Next weekend I'll be back in Ipoh for Labor Day Holidays. After 3.5 months away from Ipoh, it's about time I went back. Hahahah. Can't wait to tee off at good ol' RPGC. Anyone in town for yumcha?

Mood-O-Meter : Exhausted
On The Jukebox : Bohemian Rhapsody in my head
Blog Snack : H2O

Alas, I am back from Takasaki, Japan. It was a work trip, but I still managed to squeeze some time to take some pictures of the scenery. I've had enough of sake, beer and sushi to last me a long long time!

Tokyo Station

A lot of Cherry Blossoms

Upholding my effort to try McD's in every country I go to. I get to choose to have Salad or french fries for my value meal. I had Bacon Lettuce Burger!
