Survival Of The Fittest

Lately there has been a big HOO HAH about 18,000 of our country's young graduates being unemployed. What does this mean to the leaders? Corporate Malaysia not big enough to provide jobs for them? Or are our graduates ain't good enough to be hired? Here's a Jakun's take at the current situation.

For years Malaysia is pushing for a developed nation, to the extent that any Tom, Dick and Harry (or Ali, Ahmad dan Abu) would be sent to universities to pursue their degrees. Of course, we do not want to discourage these youths of Malaysia, don't we? So we practically hand the degree to those that are unfit to graduate (for those that busted their butts off and deserved it, good for you mates). I was once a fresh graduate, full of confidence, to the extent that I get really arrogant, cocky, and think that no employer is good enough for me. I was fortunate that I reality struck me early and I was made to eat humble pie (though I am still cocky). So we have a double edged sword threatening to slice us up: cocky graduates who has high employment standards and graduates that suck big time.

The admission requirements got to be tightened, to make sure that the creme d'la creme of Malaysian youths are admitted to Universities. Universities and corporations need to collaborate to introduce a curriculum that equips future graduates with skills and knowledge essential when they join the work force. For those that did not make it, TOO FUCKING BAD for them. They would have to accept the fact that they did not make the cut. The determined ones would keep on trying (kudos to this group), while the others will have to accept the fact that they are deserve to languish at the bottom of the food chain. If/When this happens, perhaps we would have less foreign workers in the country?

My apologies if I have offended anyone with this posts. It is mean and cruel, but hell, this is a world where Only The Strong Survives.
