Back From Singapore

Mood-O-Meter : Excited!
On The Jukebox : Kylie Minogue's '2 Hearts' keep playing in my head... ARRRGGHHH
Blog Snack : Waterrr...

Hey folks, I've been spending 1 whole week in Singapore for my P&G Orientations. You know, getting to know my new colleagues, home search, medical checkups, etc. And I am getting excited to go to Singapore to get to the ground running! So here are some thoughts after my Singapore trip:-

1) Public transportation is great! Punctual and systematic, everyone is courteous...

2) Food is surprisingly cheap - SG$2.50 - 3.50 for a BIG plate of chicken rice or fried noodles. Contrary to what people say, food here is pretty good!

3) Singaporeans are crazy about branded goods. Long queues are seen outside Gucci and Louis Vuitton outlets. KL and Singapore are pretty comparable in terms of shopping (sometimes KL prices are SLIGHTLY cheaper).

4) Rent is going to kill me! 2 room HDB flat is going up to SG$2000 a month!

5) I have the impression that the Singaporean Government are trying to brainwash their people about how good Singapore is, by broadcasting screw ups of the Malaysian and Thai governments. Boy, broadcasts of the HINDRAF and BERSIH riots made our leaders look stupid. Waitaminute, they are stupid...

6) The P&G team I am joining are a group of IT Managers cum Supply Chain Improvement Providers for P&G plants.

7) I'm gonna have a BLAST here...
