Fuel Price Increase... Fuck!

Government just announced a 30 cent increase in fuel prices, almost 20% increase from 1.62 bucks! This is definitely a kick in the balls for the Rakyat, it being the highest fuel price increase in 10 years. Government Officials gave their assurance that this would be the one and only increase for 2006. We will see la, or perhaps we will see an increase again in the beginning of 2007. Let's hope the additional moolah is put to good use for the public. Why am I so sceptical when I typed out the last statement? Hmmm.... The funniest part of it is that our Deputy Prime Minister (Mr. Najib) has urged everyone to resort to public transportation instead of driving cars. Wonder when was the last time he took the bus or train? Probably NEVER did. Hehehhe.. .
Oh well, this episode really made me revisit my travelling expenses a bit. Made a rough estimation, I will end up spending about RM650 on traveling expenses in a month! That's a huge chunk outta my paycheque, hommes! And travelling 100km a day (about 2 hours in the car) to and from work is not exactly a productive way to spend time. Which brings me to play around with the idea of moving to some place nearer to work (preferred destination: Subang). Not too Jakun (ironic, ain't it my Jakunites?), not too far, not too expensive. Anyone knows anywhere to rent that fits those criteria? Guess everyone's looking for someplace like that. Lol. Anyways, will keep you all informed if/when I have decided.
