Gutten Tag Jakunites! After two and a half years with Elektrisola Malaysia, time has come to end my adventure with EM, as I will be setting out on a new one with BP Malaysia (yes, THE -pronounced as 'thee'- BP). It all started about a month ago when I was mass distributing my resume to companies all over. BP Malaysia got back to me, interviewed once, and offered my a job as a Production Planner in one of their lubricant factory in Klang (yes, I am moving from the jungle to the sea... fuck).
When the ecstacy of getting a new job settled down, my feelings started to get clouded with self doubt and uncertainty. Questions were flooding my mind, like "Will I like it there? Will I do well there? Am I missing something better out there?" Suddenly thoughts of EM's survival encrouched my mind as well. The moment I told Rosli about the job offer, I saw sadness and the sense of being betrayed in his eyes. They were screaming, "But you were the chosen one!" ala Obiwan Kenobi in Star Wars III. Man, I feel like an Anakin. The fact that I am THE SHIT in what I do has a lot to do with Rosli's tutelage and guidance. Seen as the shining star in the company all this while, my move would be a big blow to the company. My MD will be totally freaked out! After some self reflection, I have cast aside my emotions and decided to take a leap of faith. A leap for better things to come, a leap to realize my dreams. Come 1st August 2005, I will no more be an employee of EM, and I will be joining BP Malaysia.
CJ gave me a postcard last year from the 2004 Athens Olympics with the slogan, "Behind every dream, is the spirit to fly." I guess its the time for me to live every single sense of that line. Wish me bon voyage!
