More Splurging...

Mood-O-Meter : Even more broke!
On The Jukebox : Wasted - Carrie Underwood (Hahahhaha!)
Blog Snack : H20

AGAIN, I have splurged another sum of money. This time it is a "necessary" splurge though. Is there such a thing? Here goes, my pair of tennis shoes is pretty wasted (pun intended) so I did not take it with me to Singapore. Recently I have joined a tennis group @ Farrer Park via Yahoo Groups. This group seems active, so why not join and invest in a pair of good tennis shoes?

Faik and I took a cab to Queensway Shopping Complex after work and set about looking for shoes. What they say is true: Queensway is THE place to shop for sports stuff. They are everywhere! I managed to knock 60 bucks of the shoe I bought (bastards probably hiked the price up - heheheh).

So here's what I got: Adidas Barricade IV! These look cool as hell Joe!

Oh yeah, these are the first pictures I took with my N95 8GB celly. View from my apartment at Scotts Road. 5 megapix baby!

N95 8GB: Muahahahha

Mood-O-Meter : Broke!
On The Jukebox :
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Your Guardian
Blog Snack : Stuffed myself at Newton Circus

Alas, I have finally gotten hold of one of my long desired toy. The ultra cool N95 8GB! You can play games, listen to music, surf via WiFi, navigate on GPS, take 5MP pics, etc. It is the complete tool.

27 Dresses
was surprisingly a great watch! Yeah, the Jakun's watching chic flicks. But I totally enjoyed it! Katherine Hiegl's HOT in a funny manner, and James Marsden complemented the film very well. Give this a shot if you wanna wind down for a change.

Tomorrow's the Mens Singles Finals of the Australian Open. I hope this guy wins:-

RIP Heath Ledger

Mood-O-Meter : Sad that drugs has taken another talent from us
On The Jukebox : Bryan Bros still getting whooped
Blog Snack : KFC Singapore

Yet again, another talented actor has left us. It is reported that the death is due to OD of sleeping pills (isn't it getting a bit cliche?). Suicide or accidental, yet to be decided by the cops. But we can only guess, can we? So here's a shout out to Mr. Brokeback Mountain.

PEACE OUT, MATE....

KFC Singapore Experience

Mood-O-Meter : Dissatisfied!
On The Jukebox : Bryan Bros getting whooped in the Australian Open
Blog Snack : KFC Singapore

Okay folks, I just had to do it. I just had to satisfy my curiosity and try the KFC in Singapore. So here's the verdict.

1. Chicken
Singapore does not have the Hot and Spicy. Instead, they have Hot and Crispy. The skin was not crispy enough and the batter was too thick, chicken was not JUICY enough and it was not spicy enough. In summary, they did not have enough WUAH LAN EH factor to it. 1 pt to KFC Malaysia

See how SAD this piece look? Dry and miserable!

2. Sides
The coleslaw in Singapore tastes SLIGHTLY better. But what impressed me the most was their latest addition, the Pasta Shrimp Cheez. It is actually deep fried mac n cheese with prawn chunks. This one's for the cheese lovers. 1 pt to KFC Singapore

Sorry la, ate everything already. The box became my bones disposal unit. Lol.

3. Condiments
KFC Singapore does not have Thai Chilli Sauce. Now, what kind of KFC experience does not have Thai Chilli Sauce? Give me a break, my meal was not complete without the Thai Chilli Sauce! 1 pt to KFC Malaysia for giving unlimited Thai Chilli Sauce.

The overall score, 2-1 to KFC Malaysia! Now I gotta get my ass back to have some of them finger lickin' good stuff.

Nomad Moves Again...

Mood-O-Meter : Chillaxings
On The Jukebox : Fed getting his ass whooped in Aussie Open? Losing 1-2 (in sets) to Tipsarevic
Blog Snack : Kit Kat Bar

Hi all! yes, Jakun the Nomad has moved again. Now I am in a new country (i.e. Singapore), new company (i.e. P&G), new industry (IDS/IT/SCM Project Management!). I'd say that this is one of the most drastic changes that I am going through. Here are a few thoughts of mine, after 1 week in Singapore.

1. Singapore's irritatingly efficient and well organized.
2. Things here are pretty affordable (if you are earning SGDs)! Furniture, food, clothes, shoes, etc.
3. Renting a room/apartment will burn a hole in my pocket.
4. Senior citizens are still willing to work, even the simplest of jobs like being a driver, a jaga, or even in McDonald's!
5. They've got good food here too.
6. Everyone speaks mandarin here. Time to buck up.
7. I miss my pirated DVDs!
8. I can't wait to set up my Bank Account and Post Paid Mobile (I am still using prepaid).
9. I can't wait to get my first pay cheque.
10. Lotsa good looking people in Singapore.

Some pics during my next post. Stay tuned.
